These Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts are perfectly crispy on the outside, tender, soft on the inside, and so easy to make! Learn how to cook Brussels Sprouts in the air fryer and enjoy this perfect side dish with fresh garlic and a tangy balsamic reduction.Easy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts Recipe (2)

I am convinced that the air fryer was made for cooking Brussels sprouts. Perfectly crispy, even somewhat brittle, outer leaves and soft, tender insides makes this often troublesome vegetable more flavorful, more delicious, and super easy to cook!

Perfectly Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts

There are a handful of ways to prepare crispy Brussels sprouts. Roasting them in a hot oven, for example, is my usual go-to method and also very good, but the air frying is different.

It’s easier, faster, and guarantees an extra layer of crispy deliciousness.

Of course, be sure to halve (or even quarter) and especially large sprouts so that they have a chance to get soft on the inside, too.

How to Make Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts

  1. First, start by trimming the ends from 1 pound of Brussels sprouts. Remove any loose outer leaves and cut them in half, or in quarters, lengthwise.
  2. Then, toss the sprouts with olive oil and salt in a medium bowl until combined. Feel free to add any other seasoning and spices if you’d like.
  3. Heat the air fryer to 400°F and add the Brussels sprouts. Set the timer for 15 minutes.
  4. Approximately half-way through cooking, shake or stir the sprouts, then resume cooking until approximately 2-3 minutes remain on the air fryer. Add the garlic and continue to air fry until the time is complete and the garlic is golden brown.
  5. If desired, prepare a balsamic dressing to serve drizzled over your Brussels sprouts. Simply add the balsamic vinegar to a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until thickened, and slightly syrupy (reduce heat to prevent it from burning). Then, at the end of cooking, whisk in the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Remove from heat and set aside.

What to Serve with Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts?

These tiny crispy little cabbages are one of my favorite weeknight side dishes. Serve them with your favorite baked chicken breasts or pork chops and these delicious buttery mashed potatoes!

How to Store Brussels Sprouts

If you find yourself with leftovers, cool your sprouts and transfer them to an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in a hot skillet or in the microwave.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels Sprouts - ends trimmed, outer leaves removed, cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil - divided
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 cloves garlic - sliced or minced
  • cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice - plus more for serving
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes - optional

Instructions

  • Heat your air fryer to 400°F.

  • Chop the ends from 1 pound of Brussels sprouts and chop in half lengthwise. Transfer to a large bowl and toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

  • Place the Brussels sprouts in the air fryer basket and gently shake into a single layer. Set the timer for 15 minutes.

  • Approximately halfway through (around the 7-8 minute mark), give the basket a shake or pause the cooking time, stir the sprouts, and resume cooking. With approximately 2-3 minutes remaining, add the garlic and continue to cook until the time is complete and garlic is golden.

  • Optional: If desired, serve your Brussels Sprouts with a simple balsamic reduction. Add the balsamic vinegar to a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until thickened, and slightly syrupy (reduce heat to prevent it from burning). At the end of cooking, whisk in the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Remove from heat and set aside.

  • Serve the Brussels sprouts drizzled with your prepared balsamic dressing, lime wedges, and crushed red pepper if desired.
